Looks like a Snapping Turtle. We have a lot of those in our pond. Those things have jaws of steel. The dude is lucky the turtle didn't get a hold of his hand.

Man, I never really thought they were that dangerous until I saw this... the biggest snapping turtle I had seen was smaller than my hand but could still take a good chunk out of you.

That one could remove limbs.

my granpa used to make turtle soup out of those things because they are the easiest to catch. he used a 2x4 and when they grabbed in, he put a nail in it's head. god i miss that soup

I did something like that before when i was like 15 and went to my father's friend house, he had a huge backyard with a big pond full of snapping turtles...... I had to do it

In certain parts of the US it is illegal to have a snapper that large... or if you catch one that size, illegal to return it to the lake.

i had a pet snapper, named Ozzy, for years(7-8?) it got its name because my daughter dropped a hatchling slider into the same tank and as soon as it hit the water....headless slider.

The guy with the plyers must have really skipped class when they were lecturing on snapping turtles and the injury you could recieve by messing with them.
