I acually saw this a while back, but I can't remember where. I was trying to search for it. The kid did not die. Some web site did an interview with the guy that was driving. He was in the hospital for quite a while and his face was pretty messed up.

Somehow I doubt he really learned any lesson, and I'll bet as soon as he could talk they went to play some mailbox baseball, and he stuck his head out the window to see where the next mailbox was and that did take his head, or at least I hope that's what happened. It's so funny when people die, especially when they are being stupid. The only bummer about this one, is according to the previous posts the kid lived.
