The Panama Canal is one of those old school engineering marvels. Its currently almost too small for todays humongous cargo ships, and from what I remember, most cruise ships are too big to go through the lochs.

Interesting fact, the Pacific Ocean is 40 feet higher than the Atlantic. Thats why they have the lochs to raise and lower the ships.

I went to go watch the locks along the Mississippi here in Wisconsin, and it's still neat to watch even though it takes awhile.

this vid iz sped up timez 100 cuz it takes a long time for a ship to pass the locks. I should know, i'm 1/2 Panamanian. Ive seen it many tymez
