if it was jammed the barrel would have exploded for the most part evenly distributing as the shrapnel flew he had too weak of a grip to cause it to fly backwards out of his hand

Most guns only have about 12-17 puunds or recoile the new .50 cal handguns have anywhere between 49 lbs or more. that would prove to be a little harder to handle if you were not expecting that

that had to be .50 cal. or better, even with a soft grip no other gun will kick like that. i was shooting a .44 when i was maybe 13-14 and never even came close to losing the weapon even though i was inexperienced with a handgun.
