Notice they broke off just outboard of approximately where the wing struts attach. The pilot most definitely overstressed the airframe at some point and that led to the failure, most likely from metal fatigue.

Just scary. At least if your car wheel comes off you usually don't have the thousands-of-feet fall to wait through before you die.

it was obviously not designed to fly under those extreme conditions. its a people carrier not an aerobatic machine. he must have pulled up too quickly. after that the pilot new he was a dead man
