That little spark was lightning? I've seen bigger arcs in science class. Heck I could make that kind of arc myself. And if it was lightning where's the KABOOM of thunder. There's just a little pfft. IF that is real, they were real lucky that it was such a runt of an arc.

two things the car isn't fried because it is not grounded. The lightning may be carrying thousands of volts but with out a path to ground there is no amperage assosiated with it. Since it is the flow/current of electricity, aka amps, that fry electronics not sheer volts the car stays running. Second I believe the guy would have been literally blinded by the light, thus causeing his lack of reaction. I think the worst thing that may have come from this would be a discoloration of the paint where it is hit, because there would be a bit of heat from the current surging thru the metal of the car and the driver having welders flash.

flash burns hurt soo bad. i have a high tolerance for pain but ive been flash-burnt twice. thats the worst pain..cant keep your eyes open because of the pain and dryness. cant shut them because of the pain and swelling. cant sleep, cant see. just lay there writhing in pain with potatoes and or cucumbers on your eyes and wait it out.

i know this has nothing to do with the vid... but dwm151's comment gave me....flashbacks

i've seen the result of lightning hitting a car before - lucky it was parked in the street, because the whole front end was done for, and part of the engine was hanging from the bottom.
