I don't think he did that at Woodstock. He was actually scheduled for the night before but bumped!! He didn't become a legend until after his death. He actually preformed this at 8 or 9 a.m. a time for "other" performers!

People will forget what you said.
People will forget what you did.
But people will never forget how you made them feel.

He did do this @ woodstock,, I was there.. I was very young and had no clue as to what was really going on around me, I saw things that no child should have seen..Funny now, but not then.. I was w/my sister who wanted to go and had no one to watch me for her..so she dragged me w/her..(she was grounded for 3 months,,(but thats another story hehehe) For 2 days I walked and saw things that still blow my mind to this day.. Including the drugs and naked people running all over, People wallowing in gigantic mudd puddles, No bathrooms no running water and lots & lots of herbage going down. It was the highlight of my summer that year !!! But The very best was when Janis Joplin was singing and 2 of the stage hands came out from both sides of the stage each pushing a piano and the other an organ. They pushed the 2 together and she played them BOTH @ THE SAME TIME !! it was a summer to remember!!

We all know what an incredible guitarist Jimi was, but who noticed the drummer? He's amazing.

'Hey Joe', 'Purple Haze' and 'The Wind Cries Mary' were huge hits in the UK in 1967.
