I have my pilot's licence but I don't think I'd ever get a heli licence. I like the idea of still being able to glide to safety after an engine failure.

A helicopter can function extremely well after the motor shuts down. It is called "Auto-rotation" and the pilot just changes the pitch of the rotor blades and the rotor blades will self rotate and create enough air displacement for it to land safely. All pilots are trained in Auto rotation before being granted their rotor wing licence.
