That was awesome. It would look so cool if they put different colored lights in the pool.

I see that often at weddings during the first dance at certain halls. Many DJ's try to duplicate this with their smoke machines but their smoke rises and doesn't match this effect.

Dry ice is what is being used so the cloud is heavier than air and doesn't rise as much.

Why are the on looker's crazy?

That kid is a fucking moron for handling LN2 that way. He's lucky he didn't end up with severe damage to his hands or anyone else if had splashed on him.

Nitrogen has to be 77.2 K (-346°F and -320.44°F) to be liquid.

Actually no. The liquid nitrogen was already boiling when he threw it in the pool. By spreading it out, the surface area was increased, and it probably only took a few seconds to change from a liquid to a gas.

It might have changed the temperature of the water a little bit, but to know that you would have to know the volume of water in the pool, the volume of nitrogen in the tub, and the temperature of the water in the pool.

You are partially right. By using the volume of the pool in any standard equation you would get the change in temperature if the pool after it had been fully circulated and mixed. Most curious people would be thinking more along the line of instantaneous temperature drop. Those calculations would also need the instantaneous mixture volumes from the amount of LN and water at point of contact then factor in flow/mixture rates. Basically you get into some pretty heavy computations and differential equations.

In laymen's terms that equals math with lots of letters.
