I was rooting for him at the end too, would like to see him get this one before he retires.

I was hoping he would win to... At least it was a clean run to the finish. How about David Gilliland coming back to finish up their though?

The due date for the new addition is July 10th of 2009!

What's his name got fired from the 19 car, and Elliot Sadler came over to drive it. Gilliland took over Sadler's old car the last couple races of last year

Just when I finally learn all the driver by there numbers, They start changing them. I think that a driver should have the same number during their entire career regardless what teams they change to.

Actually it was, they allowed martin and harvick to finish the race instead of throwing the caution and deciding the race that way.

The due date for the new addition is July 10th of 2009!

they allowed them to finnish the demolition derby because they had commercial time sold and by god those commercials were going to play... forget that its dark out... and theyve been sitting on the track for 10 minutes parked... its all the do re mi... the allmighty dollar...

I used to attend local races here... and when an accident happened the yellow was out... they didnt want to follow the rules... so what... next time just run a demo derby/// lots shorter and they can do whatever they want to.

Don't hold back. Tell us what you REALLY think.

Oh, and by the way, Daytona is a lit track and the summer race there is run at night. Darkness is not a factor.

In all honesty though, is he going to be remembered for much else besides his former sponser? The rest of us end to dwell on petty things like that. (yes I acknowledge his career accomplishments too.) the poor guy is cursed.

Scott Riggs drives the Valvoline car...the last couple years. I don't remember when Mark had the Valvoline. All I remember is Viagra and AAA.

LOL

Best I can do for a picture: http://auctions.yahoo.com/i:1998%20Mark%20Marti n%20Valvoline%201st%20Edi tion%20HOT%20WHEELS%201%2 F64:102012903

Valvoline was a sponsor at Roush Racing for 12 years. That's a lot longer than anything to do with AAA or Viagra.

I imagine that also means that you think the Miller car has always been blue, Jeff Gordon always existed, and 15% of the cars weren't sponsored by tobacco companies?

Ahh, that good old Smokin' Joe Camel #23 car... those were the days.

PS: Here are better ones:

Yeah...Viagra was I think just for two seasons. AAA was for one. I had only been interested in NASCAR for a year before Nextel began sponsoring the cup series, so I'm a newcomer to racing.

When I started watching, we only got to see about 4 races a year here if we were lucky. As time went by, they began showing more and more races and then the internet came along and there was NASCAR.com too...

There was a time that I didn't let a day go by without visiting nascar.com and jayski.com and I watched every single race one way or another.

Now that it is "main stream", though, I'm losing interest. I think the Car of Tomorrow might just kill off my ability to enjoy it.

i hate nascar, but my mom and dad love it. martin finished 2/100 of a second after (harvick, wasn't it?). one helluva finish.

I think a short highlight clip starts taking things into a fuzzy area of "Fair Use". Hard to let Sportcenter show it and then crack down on everything else.
