I think the "War On Drugs" is a joke. Think of the billions probably trillions of dollars spent on prevention since the 60's and it still gets in the country. The money would best be put into education and treatment.

This is coming from me, a staunch conservative Christian.

....Amen brother...if the money and effort was all used on the hard drugs, like cocaine, heroine and such they might get somewhere...but its easier to go after the pot...legalized, taxed, and controled would keep a lot of innocent people out of jail

I'll never forget the look on my 12 year old son's face when at the dinner table I made this comment for the first time. It was total shock. He knows me as a staunch conservative Christian. I'm not worried about him because I tell him everything face foward about issues. He is also on this site.

How is drugs of any kind any different than alcohol or even gambling? It's taxed and regulated.

You don't see too many bettors or alcholics that don't receive rehab.

A trillion dollars can help so much and so wasted over the decades.

I don't want more government but less! I think that trillion dollars could have been better spent.

We all make decisions, you have to live with them like your credit report. I don't want to pay for your poor financial deceions. This has stood the test of time and nor should a bad decision on how yo spend your time off.

i don't see a point in it being illegal. there are plenty of things that are more hazardous to you in a quicker timeframe than weed. it's just another conservative crusade.

he signed the bill in 1937.....but it was already illegal in several other states before then. here's a good link describing how it came to be made illegal. As usualy, it has nothing to do with the truth of the drug. Read carefully.......it's the good old conservatives who brought it about.
