Ok ladies, here's a confession. I broke the fiberglass casing for the passenger side mirror mount when I clipped one of those orange highway poles that directs traffic to a certain lane. A pretty good shot when you consider they're only about a couple of inches in diameter.
A few weeks later, while backing out of my garage, I broke the driver side mirror mount! So as of right now I have both mounts secured with . . . are you ready for this? . . . duct tape! (the handyman's secret weapon)
In my defense on the second mirror, my garage is only 16' wide, the garage door is only 12' wide and I have a 1948 Chrysler stored in there that I have to squeeze in next to. Not a lot of room for my Bonnieville. The following image was attached:
