Spontaneous Avian Implosion is not understood but usually leaves little more than a few feathers and a little blood. The rest of the bird disappears. Science is unable to explain it though theories abound. There seems to be a connection to cats living in close proximity and it is possible that some interaction is responsible, but on what level is difficult to say. Birds seem to be immune to SAI if they are kept in cages leading scientists to suspect that the tight spacing of the bars serves to keep out whatever strange energy causes the birds to implode. There is no evidence to back up the assertions in every case. Of course there are sometimes cat prints in the blood and even a few rare times when a cat is found with blood and/or feathers on thier fur. This is due to no more than the natural curiosity of the cat. Upon sensing the SAI cats will naturally investigate. They are no doubt as puzzled as you by the phenomenon.
