I have actually seen penguin crossing signs LOL. There is a large colony of them in Simonstown near Cape Town in South Africa.

Penguin colonies do exist in parts of Australia and South Africa. The swim isn't too far, and it used to be alot shorter.

We have several different breeds in Southern Africa, but the Jackass penguin is the most common around the Cape. I think there is a Rockhopper colony further up the coast along the Indian Ocean.

Hehe.. they are real.

http://www.botany.uwc.ac.za/Envfacts/facts/penguin .htm

They are also called African penguins now since they only live in Africa, but they were first called jackass penguins because their call sounds like the breying of a jackass.

That is one of the cutest pics.

Sorry, did some checking - it's near Oamaru, in the South Island of New Zealand. The AA logo in the right hand corner was my clue.

There are plenty of signs In South Africa, more like this.

Enjoy ......

I saw such signs when I travelled in South Africa. Was awesome! The pings are so cute! And SA is beautiful!
