If I must explain it to you ...

Because, when you're dealing with kinky sex, someone saying "stop", or something similar, would just be a part of what you're doing. It would almost add too the situation.

That's why the "safe word" has to be something that wouldn't be normally said, during rough sex.

The safe word is there, so that the person dominating the situation knows to stop.
