I have been on a ferry in choppy waters on Lake Michigan, but not as rough as that.

On Thursday October 18th Western Washington was hit with a 50+ MPH wind storm. The pictures were taken from the Mukilteo Lighthouse Park where the Mukilteo to Clinton ferry was taking a pounding.
The M/V Kittitas is 328 feet long and 78 feet wide and weights 2477 tons (4,954,000 lbs) unloaded. It hold 130 vehicles and 1200 passengers. It has an upper and lower car deck, an enclosed passenger deck and an upper crew deck.

I love riding them in stormy weather, but this may have been a bit much. Looking at this I wonder if they made the people get out of their cars and ride on the passenger deck before they left the dock.

I live in Lynnwood and work in Kirkland. The power didn't go out in either place, but the elevator in the Tech center stopped working probably due to a power serge. I work on the fourth floor and our building is at the top of a hill so we get really awesome views of the Cascades and the fall leaves are gorgeous right now.

I used to live in Gold Bar by Wallace Falls and the drive home up Hwy 2 was gorgeous this time of year. It would be a nice time to take the Hwy 2/Hwy 90 loop over the mountains, but hear there is snow in the passes and I don't want to deal with it. Chuckanut Drive is also beautiful this time of year. Chuckanut Drive is a windy road that follows along the Puget Sound coast line from Burlington to Bellingham.
