It's a simple shot. You set the camera for low light shots which keeps the shutter open for longer usually a few seconds. Then as you click and start the shot the person standing to the side moves before it is finished. Instant ghost!

Inside every chihuahua, there's a wolf waiting to get out. A small
bug-eyed wolf, but a wolf nonetheless.

That is correct, saved me an explination which would have been more than likely long winded. The low light situation also caused the auto focus problem to especially with it being back lighted. Since the camera was confused, it took awhile for the camera to lock on a setting. longer than the third person wanted to stay in the photo.

Wow. That was enlightening. Now, explain orbs to me. I have taken many pictures that have definite orbs. Is there an explaination for them?

Oh boy, orbs. I've seen them on tv not in person nor have I photographed any yet. Usually it is caused by dust or a spot on the lens. Other times it can be dust reflecting the light making it look bigger. Video orbs can usually be stray light (same for photos) being reflected back to the lens and appears to be a moving entity when in fact it is the camera moving.

Then there is the possiblity of orbs being a real spiritual entitty which I have not experienced, but I believe it possible.

What's that tv show that hunts down spiritual encounters, Ghost Hunters? The guys that work for Roto Rooter. They have a local chapter here in Connecticut and I would love to volunteer my services but I just don't have the time.

There is one here in Florida too. My orbs are kind of hard to fall under your explaination of dust or light reflection. I took these pics at a cemetary on top of a mountain in Tennessee at night and there were no lights out there. I took three pics in a row and the orbs moved. Pretty cool. You should make time to do that and if you ever do. I would love to see your pics.

There is light , even if you don't see it. Anyway , the human eye sees only a small part of the light spectrum. Plus there is the PAP phenomenon (PAP-Problem of Another Person)

I agree too. Basic photography.
It also explains why the rest of the photo is blurry... Kinda hard to hold a pose without a fraction of movement.
