Ever opened a newspaper and taken a look at the political cartoon?

In the west we have freedom of speech. From the past up to today people like Saddam, Osama, Mao, Hitler have been subject to much taunting. The reason for the taunts is to damage their credibility, and portray them as the cowards they really are. Trey Parker and Matt Stone have had movies and tv series banned from North Korea as the government recognises the threat to the long established brain-washing of its people. The North Korean government even went so far as to ask the Czech republic to ban "Team America" (they received the reply "it's absurd to demand that in a democratic country.")

A lot of the wests attitudes towards communism are seen by visiting North Koreans. After their own attitudes become strongly influenced, a number of these North Koreans decide to jump ship and flee from their native country. Images like the one above often help people to a life of freedom.

The internet is largely restricted in North Korea with local intranets unable to plug into it's corrupting content. Not to mention the fact that most North Koreans are too poor to afford a PC. Although more than 2 million people have died in North Korea since the mid nineties, you'd be hard pressed to prove they were from posting pictures of a "dear leader" lookalike.

Well put. Also, I believe they have 'open days', possibly once a month, where border crossings are allowed so that people can see their relatives. I worked with a South Korean lady who crossed the border and found it very distressing to see the conditions her relatives were subjected to. North Koreans are beginning to realise what they are missing, so it is only a matter of time before the regime is removed. If North Korea had oil, it would be a different story.
