You are correct, however I think it was the NY Post last year that followed a couple of these type people and found that they live in some really nice apartments in NYC with high rents and that they make more than probably you and I both combined. Since it's all cash no tax is taken out on it.

The only person I gave money to in NYC was a "veteran" who had no legs, since that is very hard to fake I gave him $5.

Remember how he was the homelss guy with no legs in the beginning ?

That character was modeled after that legless homeless guy you saw.

On another note ... I've seen the legless guy too.
He does this amazing thing where he goes between subway cars while it's moving ... on a skateboard.
I mean, how he hasn't been killed yet by falling between cars is astounding to me.
He's been New York's famous legless homeless guy for years & years.
I've been seeing him around off & on since I was a little girl.

wtg dude. i saw vet w/o an arm on a field trip to D.C. the teachers to us not to give any money to beggers. as we walked by i sliped him a five when no one was looking. i got caught. i was punished pretty bad. but when i heard the vet say "god bless you son" it was WELL worth it!

This has got to be one of the funniest homeless people on earth.
He's always cracking a joke & being silly.
He's great entertainment. Especially during rush hour when the streets are crowded & you're at the end of your rope.
He's always making everyone laugh !!
A lot of people, my self included, know him by name.
I give him $5 every time I see him.
I know that he probably has more money than me (lots of homeless people are raking in the dough). But fuck it. That's comedy right there.
Humor like that needs to be rewarded !!
