I don't think thats paint. I would bet its a vinyl wrap. Not to take away from it, as it takes some special equipment to do vinyl wrapping, plus the skill to apply it.

It could be but when we were askedto paint an f-18, we asked about the wrap and theysaidthat it wasn't allowed on military aircraft. Excuse was, too much weight... but when all the painting is done, the paint weighs more?!?!?!?

Yeah, and the people I know that have painted F-16's say that the paint has to be flawless, and to a specific thickness and smoothness. So, with that much detail, you are bound to have a run, and unevenness in the paint.

But the vinyl does have weight to it.

I dunno...Its a helicopter so maybe they are less picky about that stuff being it isn't flying at Mach 1.8.

You're right about the speed!! lol I know the NASCAR wraps are alot ligher than paint is.
