Glad they made it home. Now if they can figure out how to insulate the fuel tank so ice doesn't form, but keep the insulation from blowing off at mach 8 they'll be set.

Whats amazing about the shuttle fleet is when they first started flying when I was only 5, they had less calculating power on their on board computers than I have in one of my calculators I use at work that I bought at WalMart fot 10 bucks.
Technology has changed so much its amazing.

I can't wait until they can get into orbit by "flying"
The hard part is achieving the 17,500mph needed to fall around the earth.

Your dad being an engineer, he'll tell you its impossible to calculate "dynamic forces" being that you don't know when where or how much they are going to be.

Now think about this.
All that shit going on...all that rough riding all they way to nearly 18,000 miles per hour and 200 miles into space ...and they somehow manage to put a billion dollar satillite into orbit that could be damaged here on earth beyond repair by a few specks of dust.

i dont know how some of these shuttles stay togethere when u c tiles coming off in launch how the hell do they stay together in space or coming back down through the atmosphere but im glad they made it

I got a chance to watch a shuttle launch live several years before Colubia came apart and it is a site to behold. I have never seen or experienced such a massive and more powerful machine in my life. It is a scientific marvil that something that big and heavy can escape earth's pull and get into orbit.

Can't we all just get along?
