LoL... I bought a house next door to my mom... she still does my laundry and cooks dinner for me... it's a great setup. This tag is just so meaningful to me.

Are you married ?
And if so, is your wife okay with living next door to your mother ?

With all due respect, I asked MikeMassive that question.

But since you replied ...

You live 60 miles from your mother in law ... is that too close or do you get along with her ?

You have a 34 year old friend that still lives with his mom ? Is he like, a virgin or something ?

I couldn't live with my mother or even within 500 miles of my mother, for that matter. That woman could push Ghandi to violence. She's in-fucking-sane !!!
I literally danced a jig of glee when I moved out.
To give you some perspective, I grew up in an upscale doormanned co-op in Manhattan & I moved to a dump in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn ... & I was still dancing for joy.

No I am not married. I bought the house next door to my parents because it was a deal too good to pass up. I am currently looking for rentors and am going to buy a house a little further away with my fiance. Who will then begin doing my laundry...lol. No, I'm just kidding. I can do my own laundry, but my mom does it for me because my girlfriend and I both work 50-60 hours a week. I pay her 250 dollars a month to do our laundry and clean our house once every two weeks. She has been a housewife for 20 years and just wanted to help. She didn't want me to pay her but I insisted and we agreed on the sum of 250 a month.

That's good that you pay your mom for her services.
My mom wouldn't & couldn't do any of that if I paid her or not.
She's never been all that domestically inclined. She pays other people to do all of her work for her. You know, cleaning the house, doing the laundry, raising her kids, etc. ...

No, seriously.

I have no idea what these people are talking about.
My mother hasn't done any laundry since '87 (& she's still talking about it).

I watched my mom growing up, so when I went to college (UCSB), the dorm laundry room wasn't a problem. Now, of course, my girl does it for me. What a life!

I did my own laundry from the time I was 14 until I got married. Then me and the Mrs. struck a deal.
She hates doing dishes (which get done everyday) so I told her..you do the laundry I'll do the dishes.

Deal.

Been that way for over 6 years and I still don't have any clean clothes.

Ahhhh....its funny because its true.

I would really love to have his and hers washing machines and dryers.

I'd do it in a second. She changes her clothes every 6 hours, and I wear pretty much the same thing everyday to work.
I only wear my fancy duds on the weekends.

Most of the time in the summer though I'm just cruisin around with pants on, no shirt or shoes.

I grew up on a farm, we had no choice but to do our own laundry.

The due date for the new addition is July 10th of 2009!
