Thats the sad part about warning beacons.
Eventually one will have to be changed, and some poor ass will have to scale a tower to change it.
You'd think with fiber optics they could just have the light on the ground and route the fiber to a diffuser at the top of the building.

THe beacon itself is on top of that tower. I have no idea what kind of tower that is. It might even be a smaller smoke stack....

But the warning beacon on the top is to alert air craft that "HEY MAN THERES A FUCKIN TOWER HERE!!!"

These people get paid huge amounts of money to do this. Even thought it may take them 8 hours to climb up..They are also tied off as they climb..so even though they might fall they do wear a fall arrest system. So even if you do slip..I hope they at least bring some shit tickets (toilet paper).The bulbs in these things are about 4 or 5 thousand bucks.
I used to do cable work..imagine being out inbetween 2 telephone poles on a 28' ladded just rocking back and forth over traffic...that is fun..but to be a tower climber...no thanks.
