This is a Videophotog original, so hopefully if you see this on the internet you know where it originated!

You know, the whole Duke thing reminds me of a Law & Order episode, i think back in the 3rd or 4th seaon, when a black girl claimed to have been raped by white cops. The black reverend in there was a total mirror of Jesse.....even to the point of refusing to apologize when it was shown nothing of the sort happened. Sounds like what Jesse did a little?

Sharpton is feeling very impressed with himself, I'm sure. Thursday he told an anxiously awaiting media that; "It is our feeling that this is only the beginning. We must have a broad discussion on what is permitted and not permitted in terms of the airwaves."

Yup .. you heard him. "What is permitted in terms of the airwaves." Big Al is just the man to decide. Who the hell is he? Don't we have an FCC? Don't we have Freedom Of Speech even for idiot remarks that Imus made?

Next the internet? You are right, Gustapo is to light of a term for someone as power hungry as him. Remember Al Gore, now Mr. Enviornment? He spends more on electricity than most people do in one year! And that is on one home of three he owns!

Hmmmmm, I just mentioned two power hungry Al's, a connection there maybe?

This isn't a race thing but a grab for power.

Steve gets off his soapbox now!

How is this any different? Everyone is on the internet, yet no one will Google a story:

In 1987, a 15-year-old black girl named Tawana Brawley went missing and was found four days later covered in dog feces and with racial slurs written on her body. She claimed that at least two and possibly six white men, one of them carrying a badge, had repeatedly raped her in the woods in upstate New York. Sharpton took up Brawley's cause and defended her refusal to cooperate with prosecutors, saying that asking her to meet with New York's attorney general (who had been asked by Gov. Mario Cuomo to supervise the investigation) would be like "asking someone who watched someone killed in the gas chamber to sit down with Mr. Hitler." According to the Associated Press, Sharpton and Brawley's lawyers asserted "on 33 separate occasions" that a local prosecutor named Steven Pagones "had kidnapped, abused and raped" Brawley. There was no evidence, and Pagones was soon cleared. Sharpton then accused a local police cult with ties to the Irish Republican Army of perpetrating the alleged assault. The case fizzled when a security guard for Brawley's lawyers testified that the lawyers and Sharpton knew Brawley was lying. A grand jury investigation concluded in late 1988 that Brawley "was not the victim of forcible sexual assault" and that the whole thing was a hoax. The report specifically exonerated Pagones, and in 1998 Pagones won a defamation lawsuit against Sharpton, Brawley, and Brawley's lawyers. Sharpton was ordered to pay Pagones $65,000. Johnnie Cochran and other Sharpton benefactors subsidized the payment.

People will forget what you did.
But people will never forget how you made them feel.

because sharpton didnt charge into a room and kill people

its like calling saddam "hilter"

they did kind-of the same thing, but hitler was WAY WORSE. Hitler had more people killed in a single day, then saddam did total

I can't disagree. The bottom line is hate. Yes, I make fun with my posts of many as do you. These are just that though....jokes, just as Imus attempted to do with his stupid comment. Was America bored? Was it a slow news day? How does a 'shock jock' loose their job over a simple two sentence comment I don't know.

What scares me the most is what we can say here. I may not agree with what you or others have to say here, but I find it important so important to defend what you have to say! If you or I are so wrong in what we have to say the other members will put us in our place rather quickly!

I don't want an outsider of this site to limit what we have to say. I've had public and private messages about what I've had to say here, but at least I must say they have all educated me. I wasn't banned or curtailed on my opinion.

And sometimes it's just a joke like what Imus was trying to do, just don't let old farts like me try and act cool with comments and/or jokes, that was all he attempted to do, it just cost him his job!

People will forget what you said.
People will forget what you did.
But people will never forget how you made them feel.

they're likening his ideals, not necessarily what he did. they both were an oppresive regime that did not want people to question or really even to think on their own. that's most likely what people mean when they compare the two.

what video was saying about the gestapo, was that back then when you said the wrong thing, your ass was carried away to the camps. no a days, you're not going to the camps, but you're definitly black balled, just like during the cold war when someone said you were a commie

Please note that what Imus said was really stupid. Thats what you get when a sixty something shock jock trys to act cool in the modern world. I never try to be this stupid with my 12 year old son let alone here.

What bothers me is that what Imus said would not be punished by the FCC....unless you get a power grubbing ho like Sharpton.

Unlike Martin Luther King, he once said "I have a dream", sadly Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson say "I have a scheme"!!!

Tell me, if Chris Rock or Eddie Murphy said exactly the same thing Imus said, do you think there would be this much whoop-d-doo.....and if someone did call them on their remark, don't you think they would just say they were kidding, fire off a couple more one liners and everyone would be laughing, and the whole thing would be soon forgotten.....I agree, Sharpton, jumped on this because he needs the publicity, after all he hasn't been in the news for awhile.
Another thing that bothers me is, I find it hard to believe that the girls on the basketball team have never made any derogatory remarks about teams they play against, or that they or their classmates in college have never made similar remarks about other students or groups that they disagree with, but now are so offended as if they have never heard such things in their life.
By the way we don't get the Imus show here in MI, and we and many other people across the country would never have heard what was said, but because of all the media hype and Al Sharpton jumping in everyone is now aware of Mr. Imus and his stupid remark.
