well, back in the vietnam war (i think, it may have been korea), when the enemy captured someone, if they were allowed to go, ofttimes a coke bottle would be forced into their anus to mark them out as well as cause discomfort. these were mostly men. although the x-ray looks clearer than it would be back them, but i'm not a technician, so...

you're right taco. it is a male pelvis. pic below is a female patient. notice the rounder opening. however i suspect elderly with the trochanter replacement on the left femur head. also, no widening would occur cause it's all soft tissue . pubic bone in the front and i suspect being a male it has to be jammed up tne arse... good call for you through
