Totnes, where I live, calls itself the 'Alternative' capital. Lots of hippie types in the 50+ age group, and those younger are attracted to the 'alternative' lifestyle - so you still see young ladies in flowing skirts walking round with stars and flowers painted on their faces at times.
It's not as bad as it used to be, when sandals, beads and an Afghan coat were known locally as the 'Totnes Uniform'.

Youth passes, but with luck immaturity can last a lifetime.

Bamber I always wanted to live as a Hippie, I still have my afghan, sandals & beads. I make my own yoghurt, can knit myself a poncho and roll my own cigarettes and milk a goat... can I come live near you? And bring a friend... he aint got a job but he has nice hair
