Ha, HA,...Got everyones attention on this one (bunch 'o nasty wankers).
But sereously folks!
With this time of year upon us, and the flea season it brings.,...well we recently acquired a small wild cat that was infested with fleas. God, I hate them buggers!!!!!! Poor "Rascal" was going through flea trauma and was doing his best to become domesticated! Nice "PUSSY"! After giving the dog a flea bath I decided to try and give this wild cat a bath. We have had "Rascal" about 2 months and the cat comes to both Betty and I....only!
So I told Betty that I would do it if she held all 4 paws so I would not get scratched. Now remember that we are talking of a wild cat that is just starting to trust humans. Betty pondered the situation for a few seconds and came up with the difinitive answer! We all know that a cat's tounge is like a combe to it's fur. If you pull gently on a cat's fur, similar to a mother cat grooming her kitten, the cat melts in your hands and imieadiatly starts purring. So I took the flea shampoo and thinned it to about 50% and got my fingers very wet and started "grooming" "Rascal"....NO PROBLEM!!!!!!! I talked in a very calming voice and never forced it. The floeas started sliding away in the solution. It was so thick that it never really made suds. Some of the fleas, I had to pick/dig off/out of the fur. The only time that "Rascal" complained was when I was trying to dislodge a flea from his tail. I guess it is a tender spot. After removing all the fleas I rinced the cat slowly under the faucet (outside of course) never letting his head under water....I used very wet hands/fingers for this part. The cat seemed to know what I was doing and allowed me to do the job. The only protest being on his tail area. After all the soap was rinced ...even from the head, mouth, ears, chin and eyebrows, I towel dried "Rascal" and he was quite comftorable with me. I mean IT WORKED!
After putting the flealess cat down, this TOM went inside and took a shower!
