They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq. Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it's worked for over 200 years and I'm told we're not using it anymore.

Got what you are trying to say Bri... all I can reaLY say TO You is ya can't allow the country's 'Richest Criminal' buy your votes. Once your countrymen/women are allowed to elect the BEST PERSON FOR THE JOB, do away with expensive election campaigns, and allow some one who LOVES YOUR COUNTRY AND CARES ABOUT IT'S PEOPLE, instead of those who can buy your country... you guys are always gonna be in danger of war & greed and the rest of the world is too because you are so BIG.

because democracy cannot be forced upon a country, a country must WANT the democracy.

The correct way to "win" in Iraq is to send in people to help with the public: build bathrooms and powerplants and schools. Look at what Taft did in the Philippines: the people loved him there. When the people are happy, an insurgency stops.

It is impossible to beat an insurgency with fighting. There are too many historical references to list here to prove that. If you keep fighting, the people become angry, and more join the insurgency.

So, giving Iraq our constitution would not help them. Who would run the country? Who would make sure people would obey?
