today i discovered spyware on my computer. (dont say its cuz of porn cuz i have another comp for that) anyway its the usual spyware song and dance. the software tells you your infected. and wants you to download anti-spyware software for money. i keep getting casino pop-ups. upon closer look i found a customer support line. i called and told them that the company had teamed up with spyware coders to advertise their site. upon hearing this they cussed me out. and hung up on me. so please. help me make these peoples lives harder for promoteing the infection of millions of computers. call them and complain/prank call them/ cuss them out/ do what ever you want. give this # out to your friends and tell them the same! 1-866-463-9279 you could be the next infected!!!!

on a serious note, there are a couple good spyware prgorams to get. McAfee and Norton are the two biggest. On the cheaper end, there's one called, i think, SpyBot. A lot of firewall software have built in antispyware programs. ZoneAlarm might have it too. And Yahoo's toolbar has Yahoo Anti-Spy. Can't beat free.

ya i have spybot. it detects the problem. it says it erased it. but 5min later it comes back? wtf?

it is better to be judged by 12 than to be carried by 6.

well, you could change the settings in spybot to always alert you before anything is downloaded on your computer. that's what i did with my computer, and after a couple days most website i vist were the only ones allowed to do anything to my computer at all.

if its XP there is a folder in windows called PreFetch... spyware loves this folder... its another windows abberation... empty the files in it... when your comp restarts next time only .pf program files for regular (wanted) programs will be regenerated in the preload folder...

Its supposed to load programs on start up in a way to make it start much faster... in theory.

I got Webroot Spy Sweeper installed on my comp when I had to get it checked up by the Geek Squad, and it's worked great for me ever since.

I have Norton + pop-up blocker = works great for me.
And if I have serious problems- my dad take it to his office and his tech people fix it for moi.
