ok we all know that the armenian genocide had happened right so why is it that the united states and turkey have been the only countries to not have recognised it .
for those of you who dont know the armenain genicided took place in 1915 when turks invaded armenia and killed over 2 million armenians when this happened the only people armenia could turn to was the soviet union for help and that would happen only if armenia became comunist (which it did) thats just the general outline look it up on google for more detailed information there will be many sites saying it never happened but if u can find a good one that explains everything you want to know
the reasons the united states has not accepted it was that:
1) turkey is there ally
2)they have millitary posts in which they can not loose in turkey
3) it would cost tons of money to change textbooks and school curiculums
so in the us it is all about money that 2 million people dont get recognised when a genocide had happened
reasons why turkey hadnt accepted it:
1) they did it
2) it would cost them a lot of money and they would need to pay armenia back a lot of cash
(turkey also wants to join the un but the only way to actually to that is by accepting the armenian genocided)
and there is also hundreds of other reasons
i posted this so ppl can know about it and so the 2million + ppl dont get forgotten about so plz respond and tell me your views on it.

The problem is not so much that the text books are too expensive to update. It's more that if it can't be somehow twisted to reflect good upon the US or it's allies, it's left out or glossed over.
I had made a comment on here several months ago about Stalin murdering 20 million Russians and Ukrainians. A person made a reply saying they had never heard of that. I explained that it had been omitted from high school tetbooks because we were enemies at the time, and what happened to Soviet citizens weren't a concern of ours. It was more politically correct to list every detail of Hitler's life than to tell about the 20 million Russians and Ukrainians who were killed. Some of the Ukrainians were my family. Because of the massacres, I no longer have any family in the Ukraine.
Even though Stalin killed almost more than twice as many people as Hitler did, not many people know about it.
There's a book I'd recommend to everybody. It's called "Lies My Teacher Told Me". It's about 10 years old now, but may have an updated edition. I don't remember the author's name, but he's a university history professor.
It goes over a lot of lies and omissions in US high school textbooks.
