On Thursday, me and my brother are taking a hike up Yosemite's Half Dome. For those of you who don't know, it's a pretty tough hike ending in an almost vertical climb up pure stone.

My brother had some extra time at work and sent me this picture with the heading "Don't Let Mom See This!" Gave me a good laugh.

So that'll be us climbing up that ladder in a few days -- the only difference is that we won't have any helmets. Goody.

Thanks for the links -- beautiful pictures. I think it is great that you are going but please be smart and relize that if those others were wearing helmets its the smart thing to do. I hope you and your brother wear helmets too! Better to be as safe as possible while you take "risks" and enjoy life than to be really sorry if anything goes wrong. I pray you both have a safe and awesome time! I also look forward to seeing pictures!

I love the Smoky Mountains, or the Appalachians, and hiking is a great. I once hiked an eleven mile round trip. It took us very high up to a lodge where you could actually stay the night. I really look forward to seeing the Rockies as well. That looks like so much fun. I get excited just thinking about it.

Make sure you take a camera and take some awesome pics for us.Be safe. Also if others are going with you and they (heaven forbid) fall don't forget to get a shot of them also..seriously,take care and be careful

I should be able to manage a camera. But if I get there, look up, and think, "I'm hiking that?" Then I think I'll leave my camera behind -- that's four or five pounds I don't need.

you would be amazed at how many people dont have a living will made out... if you have special preferences... do not resusitate etc you need to have one filled out... emotional relatives may have an entirely different idea of what " You " want to do

Well, I've had that covered for a while now. My parents will have control over what happens to me with my father having more authority in case they disagree and I've already told them exactly what I want as well as written it out on the will in case they're too distraught to remember.

Let's just hope that the will doesn't get used just yet.
