"Billion"

The next time you hear a politician use the
word "billion" in a casual manner, think
about whether you want the "politicians"
spending your tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend,
but one advertising agency did a good job
of putting that figure into some perspective
in one of its releases:

a.. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

b.. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

c.. A billion hours ago our ancestors were
living in the Stone Age.

d.. A billion days ago no-one walked on the
earth on two feet.

e.. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours
and 20 minutes, at the rate our government
is spending it.

Am I? I'm not so sure... I have 17 years before I can start collecting it.. is there going to be anything there? Even worse, Is it going to last til I die? Wal-Mart can only use so many people greeters.

NO KIDDING!!! Our prime minister little Johnny Howard has gone over to america for a "HOLIDAY" and apparently he is spending over a billion dollars a day of OUR tax money cause he has to stay in the top hotels and get the finest service. While our country is going downhill with the rising fuel prices and poor pay rates. Politicians these day are friggen useless!!!!!

Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in
Australia. And if you give me any more trouble, I shall visit you in the small
hours and put a bat up your night dress!

Im only saying what they put on the news buddie. And John Howard has been known to spend ludicrous amounts of money on himself in the past. Its both him and his wife on this holiday. I might be wrong it might be a million a day but it would soon all add up and thats just not right in my opinion

There is no way anyone (except maybe the government) can spend a billion daily, yet alone over a billion. But I would believe him spending thousans, even hundred of thousands a day and it adds up --- and anyway that is not the real point -- point is he is wasting tax payers money!!!! That should be aganist the law -- actually it is -- just have to prove it is not all business!!!!!

A billion is different in the UK and US. I think 0ne is 1,000,000,000 and the other is 1,000,000,000,000. Anyone know which? I think the larger one is UK.

The way this government waste money is totally ridicules.There should be stricter guidelines and a totally independent comittee to over see spending.
