Just out of curiousity what are some of you paying for gas a gallon these days and where are you living?
It amazes the heck out of me how the prices vary from one gas station to the next. In my travels lately I have noticed the further south Florida I go the higher the gas. The further North, say Georgia the cheaper the gas.
I am paying $2.85 right now.

What amazes me it that everyone will complain but do nothing about it. I thought I had an original idea which I consulted Monkey about and that was to boycott just Exxon/Mobil to create a price war and that the consumer can control the market. Turns out the idea was around since 2004 with e-mail campaigns that obviously went no where since the last two quarters Exxon/Mobil made profits of over $18 BILLION!!! There's no gouging? You tell me.
If anyone is interested in continuing the e-mail campaign cut and paste below to all you know:
$9.92 Billion profit for ONE Quarter). That’s how much Exxon/Mobil Corp. earned last quarter! Justin Blum of the Washington Post’s article cites “High prices for crude oil, gasoline and natural gas helped Exxon Mobil Corp to its highest-ever quarterly profit” (first quarter 2006).
Sick and tired of the prices at the gas pumps? Of course you are. There is something we all can do. Bring back competition, do you remember gas wars of the 60’s. Well big oil figured this one out pretty quick and those days are over, or are they?
Exxon/Mobil has the most gasoline stations in the world. We have so many choices when it comes to gas stations these days. If we all boycott just Exxon/Mobil we can do some serious damage to them and they will have to retaliate with lower prices to regain market share, this should bring back a price war. The least it can do is send a message to big oil that they serve the customer. Vote with your wallet! Why Exxon/Mobil, because they are the largest, they have the largest income but also expenses (total income was $100.72 Billion). By targeting just one company it will have much more of an effect.
What can you do? Pass the word on. E-mail everyone you know to boycott Exxon/Mobil only. Tell them why. Cut and paste this to make your life easier. Do you Blog? Blog this. GET THE WORD OUT so it can be effective. The internet is a very powerful tool. If you spread this to everyone you know and they do likewise this boycott will noticed pretty quick. So should the lower prices too!
Pass it on, vote with your wallet! Take back some control!
People will forget what you did.
But people will never forget how you made them feel.
