I am wanting to buy this puppy from someone I was hooked up with through a breeder, that, I also found online. A person who bought three puppies from the breeder, moved to Nigeria and is unable to care for the dogs there. She is wanting to find someone to adopt the pups out to. These are teacup yorkies. Very hard to find and very expensive. She is not asking much for them at all which is what makes me leary. She has asked that I send the money to her via western union. I have never done that. Any of my prior purchases online have been through paypal. Is this a secure way of paying for my pup? I mean the dog is being flown to me. I would hate to send off that kind of money and be left without my puppy. As, most of you know I just lost a dog and couldnt bare the thought of this deal not working out. Help! What should I do?

Sounds kinda fishy if you ask me.

Have you ever considered rescuing from a shelter? There are a lot of pure breed rescues out there. You can get just about any breed dog for a fraction of the price plus be saving a dog that would be otherwise put to sleep. If you are interested let me know where you live and I could get you information of rescues in your area.
Try: http://search.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi?action=1&pet.Animal=&pet.Breed=yorkie&pet.Age=&pet.Size=&pet.Sex=&location=45140&scope =2&x=7&y=6
Those are just some of the rescues in my area. You can search for any breed.

Good Luck!

I have been on the internet searching for one in a shelter that was really my first thought. I have one I rescued from being put to sleep and I have had lots of animals in the past that I have taken in until their passing, I am surely not above that. I have been unsucsessful at finding one in a shelter though. I have an eight year old and would like to find a young one too.

I think I will take your advice. I will keep looking so, keep your ears on and let me know if you find one.

Blessed are the flexible, for they will not get bent out of shape.

What state do you live in and I will keep an eye out for you. I foster dogs all the time (fostering 2 right now) so I'm always at the shelters and online so I would know as soon as a yorkie came available.

I have two pups right now I'm fostering so if anyone is looking for a goofy male beagle or a shep mix I call Gentle Ben, let me know.

I agree with kiepay.

Don't do it.

Buying an animal like that online will only cause problems. You want to be able to inspect it and make sure it's legitimate.

NEVER buy online without trust.

dont do it deedee. its possiable she didnt even move to nigeria. nigerian scams are famous for people trying to transport money or puppys what ever to the US. they say they need money from you to pay for transport or for trust. once they get your money you never hear from them again. i maybe 100% wrong. but i sure wouldnt do it. especially since there rare and valueable. to get your attention. google nigerian scams. thats my 2 cents. tryin to look out for my friends!
